Changing the wallpaper or background of the Login screen in Ubuntu is very easy. In many ways tweaking the login screen is fun and removes the monotonous look. In this tutorial I will be explaining How to Change Login Screen in 3 easy steps.
This is the update to my previous post “How to change login Screen in Ubuntu 10.10/10.04/9.04” Although you can refer my previous post to change login image, this is a step by step tutorial for Ubuntu 11.04 and Ubuntu 11.10
Preparation
In order to change the login screen, you will need Ubuntu Tweak installed on your system. Not to worry you can know more on how to install from HERE

Get On with it…
Assuming you have installed Ubuntu tweak, follow the instructions
Step 1: Click on the launcher (Ubuntu icon) and type Ubuntu tweak and open it.
Step 2: Click on Login settings then click unlock. You will be asked to enter your password. Then click on the background to change it.
Step 3: Browse through the folders and select the images you want and click close.
Now you have successfully changed your login screen. Please let me know if you have any problems.
