Redundant kernel entries keep on adding up in the GRUB as you update your Ubuntu installation and you may find it odd to see so many entries every time you boot your machine. Ubuntu Tweak is a cool and handy application that can be used to remove redundant kernel entries from the GRUB. It has got a bunch of other options too.
First let us have a look at installing Ubuntu Tweak on your 11.04, 10.10 or 10.04 installation.

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:tualatrix/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install ubuntu-tweak
After installation, you can find it under system tools in the main menu
Launch Ubuntu Tweak and locate the tab ‘Package Cleaner’
