Few days ago the latest Java version 6.24 released. This release contains fixes for security vulnerabilities and also updated security baselines for use with Java Plug-in technology. You can now install this version in your Maverick or Natty or Lucid via ppa. To read the complete Update Release Notes, click here.
To install Java 6.24 in Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick / 11.04 Natty / 10.04 Lucid, type the following in Terminal :
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ferramroberto/java
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install sun-java6-jre sun-java6-plugin sun-java6-fonts
