KDE has recently updated to 4.6 providing major changes in the Plasma workspaces, Applications and Platform. The Activities system has been redesigned to make it easier to use. It has modified it’s power management which is now easier to maintain and allows plugins to trigger power management features.

Another notable feature in KDE 4.6 is the Plasma Netbook, which has been further optimized under the hood for a faster “Search and Launch” experience and more touch-friendly behaviour on the “Page One” newspaper activity. KDE 4.6 has released PPA only for Maverick but lets hope it will soon come for Lucid users.
