In this post we are including the PPA that we missed in the previous post on installing LibreOffice 3.3 on Ubuntu. LibreOffice 3.3 has the ability to import and work with SVG graphics files and more formatting and navigation tools available for Writer, the word-processor.
Note : This PPA is for Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat and this version of LibreOfice will be pre-installed in Ubuntu 11.04. This release is bit-for-bit identical to the Release Candidate 4, so you don’t need to download or reinstall if you have that version already.
To install LibreOffice 3.3 stable release on Ubuntu, open a Terminal and write :
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:libreoffice/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install libreoffice
To integrate with your desktop environment run:
For GNOME users
sudo apt-get install libreoffice-gnome
For KDE Users
sudo apt-get install libreoffice-kde
