After the release of RC4, LibreOffice 3.3 stepped today for the final stable release. RC4 was released a couple of days back and Ubuntu users became anxious for the final release. Even though the PPA is not available for the version, for the time being we can install it by compiling the source.
Before you start we advice you to uninstall OpenOffice. To do so, in Terminal write :
sudo apt-get remove openoffice*.*
To install LibreOffice 3.3 in Ubuntu 32 bit run the following in Terminal :
wget http://download.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/stable/3.3.0/deb/x86/LibO_3.3.0_Linux_x86_install-deb_en-US.tar.gz
tar zxvf LibO_3.3.0_Linux_x86_install-deb_en-US.tar.gz
cd LibO_3.3.0_Linux_x86_install-deb_en-US/DEBS/
sudo dpkg -i *.deb
cd desktop-integration
sudo dpkg -i *.deb
Update: PPA for Libreoffice 3.3 is released and can be found from here (only for Maverick)
