In one of my previous post I discussed how to change the desktop wallpaper automatically in Ubuntu using Wally. This post is something similar and the only difference here is that the software used is DesktopNova instead of Wally. Follow the below instructions to use DesktopNova with your Maverick or Natty.
To add repository, open a terminal and type :
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:haliner/ppa
To update and install, type :
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install desktopnova
If you want to add an indicator for DesktopNova use the following commands :
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:michael-astrapi/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install indicator-desktopnova
You can access DesktopNova from Applications -> Accessories -> DesktopNova
Now you need to configure it. To do so select your favourite wallpaper folder and enable the GNOME 0.2 module. now press the save button followed by the ‘start daemon’ button.
To enable the indicator press ALT + F2 to access Run window and type indicator-desktopnova.
