Currently Skype is the most popular VoIP (Voice-over-Internet-Protocol) app which is now developed for iPhone, PC and even gaming consoles. As Skype is used for making both audio and video calls, you may want to record your conversions for future use.

So, today I am going to write about Skype Call Recorder.

It is a simple app used to record your calls, conferences or discussions and save it for later use. It can automatically records all calls you make or receive, or record calls from selected users. The calls can be recorded in various formats ( WAV, MP3 and Ogg Vorbis ). It also allows you to tweak the bitrate of MP3 files and the quality of Vorbis.

Installation

It is curently available only for Maverick and Lucid.  To install Skype Call Recorder on Ubuntu in 10.10 / 10.04, open the terminal and type:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:dajhorn/skype-call-recorder
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install skype-call-recorder

After installation you can find Skype Recorder under Applications -> Internet -> Skype Call Recorder
