Google Earth 6 was released yesterday, however there are some errors during installation. Not to worry, here are some simple instructions which will help you to install and run Google Earth 6 in Ubunru / Linux.

Instructions for Installation:

Note: You have to make sure you have the Multiverse repository added

1. If you try to install Google Earth normally it will show errors, to fix this open your terminal and type:

sudo apt-get install lsb-core

2. Install Google Earth package from Google Earth .deb. This is different for 32bit and 64bit users. Simply copy and paste in the terminal.

For 32-Bit

sudo apt-get install googleearth-package
cd && make-googleearth-package --force

For 64-Bit

sudo apt-get install googleearth-package ia32-libs
cd && make-googleearth-package --force

3. The above commands will make Google Earth .deb file ( /googleearth_6.0.0.1735+0.5.7-1_i386.deb on my system) which should be available in your home folder. Just double click the .deb to install.
