Have you wondered why some softwares were not default in Ubuntu, well Chesse in one of them. It is a simple application that lets you to use your computer’s camera to take pictures, record videos and add effects to what you’re photographing / recording. It also includes fancy graphical effects based on the gstreamer-backend similar to Apple’s Photo Booth.
Installation
It can be installed in Ubuntu 8.10 / 9.10 / 10.04 / 10.10. To install, open a terminal and type:
sudo apt-get install chesse
You can access it from Applications–>Sound & Video–>Cheese Webcam Booth. It works pretty well, and there are plenty of effects to play with. So grab your webcam, and have fun.
