Yesterday Apple released a pre release version of iOS 4.2 for the impatient iPad owners. The release is named as Gold Master. Developers have already tested the second beta version. They say that the final version is much faster and more stable than the second beta. But recall – Gold Master is the same assembly, which will go for the official release. iOS 4.2 GM comes with a few additional changes.
The multitasking bar now adds both Volume and Brightness controls for fast access. Also pictured is the new AirPlay button (on right).
To work with the new firmware you will need iTunes 10.1 beta:
