Install Firefox 5 Beta in Ubuntu [PPA]

Firefox 5.0 Beta versions can be now installed in Ubuntu 11.04 Natty Narwhal and 10.10 Maverick Meerkat using the Firefox-Next Launchpad PPA. All the new Beta versions can be installed or updated using this PPA according to the releases. Presently Firefox 5.0 Beta 2 is available through this PPA.

This PPA is not applicable for the daily build versions of Firefox 5.0 which may be highly unstable. Before installing remember that these are not final stable version and may have bugs. Save all your bookmarks and personal information before this installation.

To install Firefox 5 Beta in Ubuntu, open Terminal and run :

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:mozillateam/firefox-next
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install firefox

To upgrade from Firefox 4.0.x to Firefox 5.0 beta, open Terminal and run :

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:mozillateam/firefox-next
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
