The Ubuntu Launcher is something new introduced in Ubuntu 11.04 Natty. It has good looks and style but some feel the other way. Different Ubuntu users have different opinions, some like having lager Launcher size while others like small size launchers.
In this post we will see how to customize the size of the launcher in Ubuntu 11.04.
Let’s Get Started
Just follow the below steps to change the panel size in Ubuntu 11.04 Natty Narwhal. If haven’t install Compiz setting Manager (which is necessary), open the terminal (Alt+Ctrl+T) and type:
sudo apt-get install compizconfig-settings-manager
Step 1: Press Alt + F2, the type about:config in the run window and press enter.
Step 2: Go to Experimental tab and the change the Launcher Icon Size Value (32 pixels in minimum and 64 is maximum)

when I choose the Unity icon nothing happens ???
If you have compiz installed you can enter Alt+F2 and enter compiz settings manager and look for this item in the main window
Nope, I can’t get the Unity icon to do anything either.
Just upgraded to 11.04 and I’ve got to admit – the new interface SUCKS! I tried these instructions, about:config appears but won’t actually run. So I’m guessing 11.04 is FULL OF BUGS!
It turns our it spiked the part where you have to install ‘compiz’…open the terminal and type
sudo apt-get install compizconfig-settings-manager
Mr. ALDO: You need to install “compizconfig setting manager” first (not installed by default)
