Banshee 1.9.2 Released with Support for Nexus S and Xperia X10

Not long ago Banshee was decided as the default player in Ubuntu 11.04 and then in openSUSE. Now Banshee 1.9.2 is released, the third of the 1.9.x series leading up to Banshee 2.0. It brings 33 notable bug fixes since 1.9.1. It has improved its sound menu settings along with some major changes.

What’s New

So, what are the major changes in this release:

  • It has added support for Nexus S and Xperia X10 mini pro
  • Many improvements and fixes to the F1 user guide
  • SoundMenu: Implement the proper close/quit behavior
  • MPRIS: Implement the Playlists interface
  • Improved write-metadata-to-file performance

Installation

To install in Ubuntu 10.10 / 10/04, open the terminal and type:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:banshee-team/banshee-daily
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install banshee
