Mixxx is free, open source DJ software that gives you everything you need to perform live mixes. An application that allows DJs to mix. It is similar to Virtual DJ as in windows. We recommended  the  new update which is available with various fixes for bugs. This is the changelog:

  • Reduce glitches on track load (major improvement for some users)
  • Waveform generation speed drastically improved on Windows
  • Stability fix when using vinyl emulation
  • Adjustable EQ shelves can no longer be equal
  • UTF-8 fixes for Rhythmbox track source
  • Fixed duplicate promotional tracks from appearing in library
  • Fixed MIDI learning wizard on OS X
  • Fixed minor delay in setting hot cues with MIDI controllers during playback
  • BPM tap activates on mouse-down instead of mouse-up.
  • Read ID3 tags in FLAC files on Windows
  • Reduce crackling during playback for some Windows users

In Maverick, Mixxx is now available in the Software Center, but if you want to upgrade to this new version, open the terminal and add

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:mixxxdevelopers/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install mixxx libportaudio2

You can find the Mixxx under Apllications–>Sound and Video–>Mixxx
